The ATA Cosmetic Repair route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the repair of vehicle exterior bodywork through the use of vehicle SMART / cosmetic repair techniques.
There are three levels of job roles within ATA Cosmetic Repair:
PDR Technician
The Technician should be working in the industry and ideally have at least two years experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques used for PDR.
Technician
The Technician should be working in the industry and ideally have at least two years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required.
Senior Technician
The Technician should be working in the accident repair sector of the industry and ideally have at least three years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required.
Self Assessment
To achieve accreditation, technicians must pass a series of practical assessments and an on-line knowledge test at an ATA approved Assessment Centre.

To ensure that they keep up-to-date with new technologies, technicians are re-assessed every 3 years to maintain their accreditation.
